The U.S. Department of Education reports that over $11 billion in ARRA “stimulus funds” are being dispersed in early September 2009, one month earlier than originally scheduled. This represents 50% of the stimulus spending by making $11.37 billion in Title I, IDEA, and Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) funding available to states one month early to help save jobs and drive reform.
